Yes, You Are A SuperMom

Every mom who takes good care of one or more child is a SuperMom.

We might have different strength.

Some moms are better cooks, while others are a better teacher or a better finance director of the family and some extraordinary moms are unbeatable in juggling between motherhood, work and business.

A supermom has amazing abilities. She can wake up ten times in the middle of the night when her baby needs her, but can sleep through any noises that originates from somewhere else.

She is strong from tireless weightlifting, and somehow she always finds and extra arm.

A Supermom knows her weaknesses and search for the answers and the ways to get better.

With the experience of each new day, we become a better mom.

Because we didn’t receive a manual with our kids, we have to rely on our instinct and on the wisdom of other Supermoms and grandmas and teacher’s who experienced motherhood.

You are a caring mom, who wants to find the answer or the solution for a problem.

We share what works for us with our kids, but remember, every child is different, and you have to evaluate every advice you get from a friend or from a blog.

If an advice does not seem right for you, than it isn’t. For you are the one who can observe the signs of your child, you see his smile, you hear his cry.

When it comes to his/her health and happiness, there is no higher authority than yourself.

If your child does not react well to an approach, you got to change the approach.

The best thing you can do for your child is to keep listening to his/her signs, observe his/her reactions and listen to your own instinct, as you do have the ability to know what is right and what is wrong in a particular situation.

Teething – Caring For Those Baby Teeth

When your child begins getting their first teeth, they may experience some pain. Typically, a baby seems irritable and anxious. They require their parent’s comfort through this difficult time in life. It can be very confusing to experience pain without understanding why. It allows you to become more aware of the symptoms of natural teething and the benefits of a parents love in helping their child get through the pain.

What are the Symptoms of Teething?

The symptoms of teething can range from baby to baby. However, there are some generalized symptoms associated with teething that almost every baby goes through:

– Increase in saliva flow
– Inflammation of the gums
– Red cheeks
– Low-grade fever
– Increased thirst

The symptoms of teething can appear several weeks before you notice your baby is teething. You will be able to confirm the problem when your baby develops a little white bump under the gum, which is the tooth trying to poke through gum. You can also provide milk on a regular basis. The proteins in milk ensure the gums remain elastic, moist, and relaxed. Even though you want to provide milk on a regular basis, you do not want to overdo it, too much milk can cause a heaviness in the tummy, causing the development of a second problem that will make your baby fussier.

From the start of teething pain, you will want to use natural remedies to help your baby with the pain. Over-the-counter pain relief gel can harden the gums, making it more difficult for teeth to push through, increasing pain. Babies teeth easier on items like scraped licorice root, or flat teething ring to help with the pain.

A child’s teeth require a lot of care because the health of their first set of teeth will affect the health of their adult teeth later in life. It is important to start brushing those baby teeth as soon as they are out. You can make your own tooth paste as well, mixing coconut oil with baking soda to form a paste. By instilling good oral hygiene, you are setting your child up for a lifetime of being healthy and strong.

 

Which Foods Are Healthy?

I think you will agree that there is a lot of confusing information about healthy foods.

There are many different contradicting advice on the internet. How do you know which is correct?

The best person to determine which food is healthy for you is YOU.

Are your favorite meals making you feel tired or bloated? Than you probably need to change what you eat.

Do you feel good after eating and you have a lot of energy? Than you are eating the right thing.

My idea about a healthy meal is one that contains most, if not all the essential nutrients the body needs.

Consider this: there are over 80 essential nutrients like essential minerals, trace-minerals, essential vitamins and essential amino-acids.

They are named essential because although these are needed for the body, it cannot produce these, but relies on getting them from food.

There is not one single type of vegetable or fruit that would contain all the essential nutrients, thus the more fruit and vegetables you consume the higher the chance that you are giving your body all the nutrients it needs.

Highly processed foods are void of nutrients. The best way to control what nutrients goes in to your body is making your own nutritious meal.

Don’t forget to drink plenty of water as the body needs a lot of fluid daily.

Coffee dehydrates. If you are a coffee lover, like me, try to change your morning coffee for a green drink or lemonade and reduce your daily coffee amount.

Most important thing however is to listen to your body. It sends you its signals, and only you can decode them.

How To Stay Healthy in The Flu Season?

Is it possible to stay healthy in the flu season without flu-shot?

What is the best way to prevent becoming ill?

Mums have a tendency to become concerned about the health and well-being of their children.

I’m not an exception either. But to be honest, I think that if my children’s immune system is weak

than the flue-shot will not prevent the flu.

What can we do to keep our immune system strong?

First, make sure that no junk food creeps up the menu. No sweet treats either or if

want to make some, use Stevia instead of sugar in the recipe.

I have observed on my kids, that anytime they have pigged out on chocolate or lollies (for example

at Easter time), they fall ill within a few days. Lollies and the like has zero nutrition the body needs

more essential nutrients to just move these out of the body.

It is not easy to provide all essential minerals, trace-minerals and micro-nutrients we need in one meal.

Searching For A New Rental Home?

The house we leave in is our home. Not only it’s weekly rental price, but it’s look and feel is affecting us whether we like it or not. Let’s not forget about the energy bills associated with it either!

A cheap rental house may come with a large energy bill, especially at winter. If that cheap old house is not energy efficient, you might end up with living expenses almost as high as if you would be living in a more expensive, but nicer, more comfortable, and more energy efficient house.

Therefore it is a wise thing to ask the rental agent some questions before applying for a particular rental home.

How much LPG is used by that continuous gas hot water system and how much it cost in a month?

What was the average quarterly electricity bill in the past year?

Is that pretty wood heater in the living room able to warm up the bedrooms as well at winter?

Is the house insulated?

When you inspect the house, look up to the roof, and see if the gutter is clean or full of leaves and sticks.

Are there mold marks on the ceiling or the wall? Is the tap dripping? The owner has the responsibility to maintain the house. If there are signs of neglect you can detect when you are inspecting the house, and you get no reassurance from the real-estate agent that those will be fixed before you move in, that tells you something about the owner.

Remember, you start renting on an as-is basis so look around very well and don’t rent it out if you don’t feel 100% good about that rental house.

 

The Keys To Stay Healthy

I’m all for preventing illnesses rather than taking medications when already in trouble. When I have learnt about the information Dr. David Ewans presents in his video about mineral deficiencies, I felt I have to share it, as this something all of us need to know.

To put it simply, if we have adequate essential minerals, trace-minerals, vitamins and other micro-nutrients in our body, than we are healthy. If there is an imbalance and we are missing something, then to that degree, our health is deteriorating.

How To Heal The Kids Scrapes And Cuts Super Fast?

My kids are very active and it’s almost a daily occurrence that they bump into something or scrape themselves some way.

Not long ago we had an accident in the Queens Park play area. I was very lucky that I had a LH+ spray at home because my son scraped his bum badly. He ended up with a large red patch, without skin, which was very painful.

Life In Essence Is Learning

It never stops amazing me how much a baby or a child learns in one short year.

Make no mistakes, mum is learning with him or her. Maybe not that fast, but she is forced by life to learn the meaning of her baby’s cries and read his or her many signs.

When the child is playing, she is actually learning. Learning how to touch, learning how to balance herself or an object, learning from the different sinarios she is playing out.

I have noticed that children LOVE to discover new things, LOVE adventures, LOVE to learn, LOVE to play and as long as they are permitted to progress in their own peace, they keep the love of learning.

It’s only us, adoults who sort of lost our sence of fun about learning. Yet as mother and as an adoult, we are learning too, every day. But some people, as they get older and older, think they can’t learn anymore. This is just not true. One learns something new every day, but he or she has to notice it first. If I were to ask you, what did you learn today, I’m sure you could name a thing or two.

Every day is filled with opportunities to learn something new! Life is all about learning. The quality of our life shows how good student of life are we.

We Want To Look Nice, But What Is The Price?

I used to wondered what are those strangely named ingredients in the shower gel, shampoo, hand wash, toothpaste, hand creams and lotions etc. I did not carry a dictionary with me for shopping, and once I have purchased a beauty product, I did not care anymore. Cocamidopropyl betaine is a surfactant and foaming agent. It was voted 2004 Allergen of the Year by the American Contact Dermatitis Society per Wikipedia.

Lactic Acid is a penetration enhacer, improve the body’s absorption of other ingredients, which can be dangerous if those other ingredients include toxins

Cocamide MEA is hormone-disrupting chemical that can form cancer-causing agents — research indicates a strong link to liver and kidney cancer.

Fragrance” is a euphemism for nearly 4,000 different ingredients. Most “fragrances” are synthetic and are either cancer-causing or otherwise toxic. Exposure to fragrances has been shown to affect the central nervous system.

Sodium Benzoate is a preservative that promotes cancer

Even if the amount of these chemicals are very law in a single product, the problem is that they are included in MANY products we use daily, and a lot of little amount add up. These not only endanger us, but our babies too.
